KANSAS CITY, Mo. (April 1, 2025) Completing a transition initiated in 2024, nbkc bank announced today that Pat Schlimmer has assumed leadership of the company’s Home Loans business as executive vice president and director of home loans.
Schlimmer, 60, joined nbkc bank in 2012 as a Loan Originator, rising to vice president of origination in 2015 before being promoted to senior vice president of sales in 2017. Prior to joining nbkc, he was a sales team lead at CapWest Mortgage and worked at Capital One Home Loans as a mortgage originator. In his new role, Schlimmer succeeds Chad Cronk, who remains with nbkc as a member of its board of directors.
“This has been a well-planned and smooth handoff, and we’re pleased to have Pat move fully into his new role,” said Michael Bartkoski, CEO of nbkc bank. “We also thank Chad for his many contributions to nbkc and look forward to his continued service as a member of our board.”
“I am honored to lead a great team of people in our Home Loans business,” Schlimmer said. “We’ll continue to focus on a great customer experience and adopting technology that makes the mortgage process easy for our customers.”
Schlimmer noted that nbkc operates a national mortgage business, originating loans in all 50 states, with a total volume of approximately $3.25 billion in 2024. Last year, nbkc’s mortgage business was recognized by Nerdwallet and selected as a winner in the “Best Mortgage Lender for VA Loans” category and, in 2023, was named the Best Mortgage Lender Overall in NerdWallet’s 2023 Best-Of Awards.
